Google Search Console sitemap not indexing my Wix site pages – anyone experienced this?

Hi everyone,
My website is built on Wix, and I submitted the sitemap.xml to Google Search Console quite a while ago again (4 days), but it still shows as “Discovered – currently not indexed” or “No pages indexed.”

I also tried the URL Inspection tool, and it shows the index status for all my pages as “Excluded.”

I’ve checked the following:

  • Sitemap is successfully submitted and can be opened without issues

  • Each page has proper SEO titles and meta descriptions

  • Site is published and publicly accessible

Has anyone else run into this issue on Wix?
Do I need to adjust any specific settings, or is it just a matter of waiting for Google to crawl the site?
Would appreciate any tips or experiences you can share!

Hi, @HuiYu_Ruan

This happens quite a lot with new Wix sites, so you’re not alone. As long as your sitemap is submitted and your site is published, it may take Google a bit of time to start indexing your pages.

A few things that can help are ensuring each page is set to be indexed in the Wix SEO settings, adding links between your pages to make them easily discoverable by Google, and utilising the “Request Indexing” option in Google Search Console for important pages.

Also, check the coverage report in Search Console to see if there are any crawl issues. Sharing your site on social media or getting a few links from other sites can sometimes speed things up, too. If everything looks fine, it’s often just a matter of waiting a bit longer for Google to pick them up.

Hi , @HuiYu_Ruan

WIXSTUDIO automatically generates and submits a valid sitemap. “Discovered - currently not indexed” just means Google hasn’t prioritized crawling those URLs yet - not that something is broken.

A few practical points that line up with how website works :

  • Wixstudio automatically generates and updates your sitemap when the site is published, so you generally only need to submit it once.

  • Using URL Inspection ⇒ Request Indexing in Google Search Console can help nudge important pages into Google’s crawl queue.

  • Sometimes indexing simply takes longer - especially for new sites or after major updates. It can be days or even weeks before all pages show up as indexed.

  • Google uses mobile-first indexing, so slow mobile load times or heavy platform scripts can delay crawling even if the desktop looks fine.

If you want an easier way to verify your site and manage Search Console from within Wix this(https://www.wix.com/app-market/web-solution/google-search-console )can help simplify setup and monitoring . It won’t speed up Google’s indexing decisions, but it does reduce setup friction and makes monitoring easier.
