Help with Wix Studio - CMS Collections & Tagging

I’m having trouble with - getting CMS Collection Items to Tag appropriately.

I am working in Wix Studio (not Classic Wix) and am encountering a persistent issue with CMS Tags that appears to be a platform-level limitation rather than a configuration error.

Summary of the issue

CMS Tags are not usable or assignable in my Wix Studio site, despite following current documentation and community guidance.

Observed behavior

  • A Tags field exists in the CMS collection and is visible only inside “Add Item” / item editor

  • The field does not appear in a schema-level “fields list” or Manage Fields view

  • Inside the item editor, the Tags field shows:

    • “No items found”

    • “Manage tags”

  • Opening Manage tags from the item editor shows no existing tags

  • There is no visible schema-level Manage Tags panel where tags can be created and persisted

  • As a result:

    • Tags cannot be created reliably

    • Existing tags do not appear for selection

    • Multiple tags cannot be assigned to a single item

    • Tag assignments do not persist

What has already been attempted

  • Confirmed field type = Tags (not Text, Reference, or Multi-reference)

  • Confirmed collection visibility and permissions

  • Attempted tag creation via:

    • Item editor

    • Manage tags from item-level UI

  • Refreshed editor, hard reload, recreated field

  • Reviewed Wix Studio documentation and community forum posts (no applicable solution found)

Key concern

CMS Tags appear to be partially implemented or inconsistently exposed in this Wix Studio instance:

  • Schema-level tag management is missing or inaccessible

  • Item-level tag assignment depends on tags that cannot be created or surfaced

  • This makes CMS Tags functionally unusable for production Phase 1 work

Clarification requested

Please confirm one of the following:

  1. Is CMS Tagging fully supported and stable in Wix Studio at this time?

  2. Are there account-, site-, or rollout-based limitations that hide schema-level tag management?

  3. Is there a known issue or limitation where Tags only appear inside item editors but cannot be managed globally?

  4. Is there a documented, supported workaround to enable reliable tag creation and assignment?

At this point, we have paused use of CMS Tags for Phase 1 due to time and reliability concerns, but would like to understand whether this is:

  • a configuration issue we can correct, or

  • a current Wix Studio platform limitation
