How do I remove this? google-site-verification

My personal website now shows a “google-site-verification” code at the top. This happened recently. I may have done something wrong or right during Google verification. Could you guide me on how to remove this tag?

I think the most likely answer is that you placed the code from google in the start area instead of the area for your custom code.

To see if this is the case:

  1. Go to the dashboard for your site
  2. Click “settings”
  3. Click “custom code”
  4. Locate the tag and see if its in the “Head” or “Body” section
  5. If it’s in the “Body” section, copy it, remove the body tag, and add the the head section
  6. If it’s in the “Head” section verify that the tag is correct, try removing and readding the tag

I went through the “seo checklist” and they added the tag for me. This was thew wrong way and not I cannot remove the tag and paste in one from google to verify my site so I can publish on google play. How do I remove the tag so I can paste the correct on in?
