How to bulk download all Wix Store payment receipts (for tax purposes)?

Hello Noah and team,

Keeping this thread alive as it is still not fixed and some of the info is outdated.

1/ This feature request is now implemented but has not been updated, which will add to the confusion for affected users : Wix Receipts Request: Centralized Dashboard for Managing And Downloading Receipts | Help Center | Wix.com

People followign this request (me included) were consequently not informed that the bulk download feature is now available for receipts. This continues the communication breakdown surrounding this product implementation. Is it a problem with this specific product team?..

2/ Invoices can now be generated automatically for reservations made with Wix Booking. The feature was implemented very recently, while invoices remain unavailable for orders placed through Wix Store. It is unlogical and frankly upsetting.

Invoices should be made available to ALL form of sales.

3/ Going back to your message about invoices that can be created manually, vs receipts being created automatically when an order is place through Wix Store:

I have to insist again on the fact that receipts are not invoices. This is a key point with this problem. An invoice is a request for payment. An invoice has a need to exist even on an order that is paid immediately. What happens is the payment is cancelled after the order is placed and the receipt issued? What happens if a payment request is made through another app that Store and the invoice is not paid?

Noah, the amount of time and money I am losing with this is not just upsetting, it is actually at the point of being a real worry for my business being viable. At this stage I am losing two large clients because I cannot fix it for them, and Wix is not owning up to their initial mistake.

The solutions are simple :

  • revert the removal of invoices from orders (receipts can be issued as well, but we need invoices that are sequential with every other sale!)
  • OR just make the “create invoice” action available in Automations.

This!
Full agreement and support for ann-creablu’s post.
I have already drawn my conclusions and am preparing to migrate my stores to another provider.
What a pity. It’s been a pleasant few years with Wix but this mess with the invoices has hit my business so hard in the heart that the trust in the Wix store or in the issues with invoices has been destroyed.
I hope that the issue that receipts are not invoices will soon be fixed so that other customers who cannot switch so easily will soon have no more problems.

Hi I would like to leave a message about a problem I found in receipt calculations.

The system does not correctly calculate the final sum of the cost of products, after applying a coupon, perhaps without applying a coupon too. But with a coupon this problem is more visible.

For example, I attach a snapshot of the receipt. As we see the sum of products after applying a 15% discount - 11.87eur.

But if we manually recalculate the sum of products, 1,69+3,38+3,38+3,38+3,38 = 11,83 eur.

The final sum should be 11.83eur. Since the tax is calculated from this amount, the tax is not correct.
I have 21% tax included in the price, so: If 11,83 is the amount with tax:
11,83 × 21 / 121 = 2,05eur

Generally speaking - feature requests are marked as ‘Launched’ when they’ve been rolled out to all. As you know, most updates are rolled out gradually, so this approach is to prevent the exact opposite of what you mention (people being notified it’s available when it hasn’t rolled out to them).

The team will update it now it’s rolled out to all.

I’m seeking further info for the other questions

This appears very likely to be a bug - can you open a ticket for it following the steps in this topic?

I’m also flagging with the team, but a ticket would help a lot too

I’ve already reported this bug to support, but I still don’t get an answer as to how this can happen. And whether it will be fixed.

You don’t even need to say will or won’t be fixed, it needs to be fixed.

Perhaps you too, on your part, can solve this problem. And pay attention to this bug

Thank you :folded_hands:

I don’t have insight into how it’s calculated, but agree it’s not correct and raised it with the team too. Will loop round when I hear anything

Just wanted to loop around with another small update - you can now create invoices for orders :raising_hands: (While not automatic yet, I believe it’s a step in the right direction, and worth updating this conversation about)

A few ways to do it:

  • From each order individually:
    • More actions> Create an Invoice
    • Payment info card> Actions> Create an Invoice
  • In bulk from the order list page:

Hi Noah,
It is indeed a step in the right direction. However, both the product team and Wix Support have been communicating that “due to feedback, invoice generation for orders have been reinstated”, which is misleading at best. The basic, automatic generation of invoices has still not been reinstated.

If we’ve enabled automatic receipt generation, the invoice can now be generated (manually) after the receipt has been issued. It’s not really an issue, but it’s certainly not logical.

Meanwhile, payment information can now appear directly on invoices, adding more confusion to the receipt/invoice differences.

Pricing plans now has a built in setting to add payment information on the invoice , bypassing the receipt entirely. It is very, very confusing.

Totally agree with everything said here.

The current manual invoice process is unreliable for managing a big order volume

Invoices are more important than receipts for many businesses, and the platform needs to better clarify the difference between them. Right now, it’s still confusing and inconsistent but I’m hoping Wix will listen to its users and address these issues.

I suggest reversing the customization flexibility between Wix Receipts and Wix Invoices. In other words, give Wix Invoices the same customization options currently available for Wix Receipts, and make Receipts as straightforward and standardized as the current Invoices.
