Hello, I am fairly new to this, but been designing and building websites for the past 14 years using many platforms and sometimes even wix. Recently i decided that I want to create websites using Wix, and sell it to my clients, i know that I can transfer the website, but how do I go about the hosting? do I have my personal details such as debit card etc or what? let say in a scenario that I used my personal details and then the client after a year decided not to want the website anymore, do I get charged still regardless? really in confusion here when it comes to the hosting, especially that i dont want to have my bank info to be deducted from monthly for various clients.
Many partners handle this many ways; some transfer before the premium is activated. Other partners buy bulk plans and assign / charge them to the partner. There are posts here you can find that discuss partner deals in the dashboard, for example. Some partners bill the client monthly and package hosting prices into their own prices.
It really comes down to preference, but also Wix is working on solutions to make this pain point easier for our partners.
Thank you for your answer I will check into that also thanks for the suggestions. the monthly idea seems good. But if the client stopped paying monthly is it possible to suspend the premium status from a selected website?
As Brett said it has been an on going pain point for us partners BUT Wix is coming up with solutions. I am currently beginning to integrate hosting as part of āadditional servicesā I offer and using our monthly partner discount.
Yes, this is still a pain point. As soon as a site is finished I hand over ownership. But this is a pain because thereās lots of things you canāt access when you hand it over so it can be difficult to maintain. The best thing that Wix could do is create something where I can send a link to the client to fill in their billing details but I keep ownership of the site.
Totally agree there, and I like your idea Sara. Handing the ownership means have to ask them to sign up etc and after a while some canāt even remember their username or password or which email used to create a WIX account and having to assist kind of having to assist them to login toā¦
@stivenson2005 Agree! The client NEVER remembers their login or the fact they signed up to Wix. So they always come back asking for their password and Iām thinking āIāve no idea, you set it up!ā And choosing the option to be the āWebmasterā is pointless too as thereās still things you canāt access. I would say 90% of clients have no interest in āowningā the site, they just need to set up the payment.
Sorry, one last point. When I hand over ownership of a site, the client still wants me to maintain it but if I ever need to contact support they canāt help me because I donāt own the site.
