**I have reviewed so many resources and I’ve worked on and designed probably 30+ wix sites for employers in the past using the original editor, now that I’m out on my own the studio seems to have countless issues and isn’t as intuitive as the other editor.
Some of my issues include the copy/paste function pulling in content/sections that were copied 3/4 copies ago, alignment looking fine in the editor and being misaligned on the actual live pages, issues editing sliders (how can I actually edits images and text in a slider if you won’t let me slide or access items in the editing cue?), and so much more.
I feel I am more than proficient and capable, but it’s been weeks and I feel like I’m wasting paid client time just trying to get simple features to work as they should.
How can I go back to the standard editor without losing all of my work? Is there an ETA for these solutions or is this the final product?
You can always create a new site in the standard Wix editor, but you cant revert a Studio site to a standard site. The two systems are built on very different architectures, so migration isn’t supported.
In regards to the copy paste, yes this is an issue because Studio keeps a longer copy buffer. I found if I click th e3 dots and select copy it works better. I also duplicate a lot more.
With alignment you need to make sure you have set padding and margins. Also having a section set to max width will make changes.
Slides - This is one of the most confusing parts of Studio. You can’t just “click and slide” in the editor. You need to:
Select the slider container.
Use the Layers panel to drill into each slide’s content.
or move each slide to the top to edit so its visible.
it really needs to be looked at as it can get messy and be time consuming.
In saying that since Studio came out I have not designed anything in the standard editor. It takes some time to learn but its well worth the struggle to begin with once you master the Studio editor and can design awesome sites. Keep at it.
