I keep checking the Product Roadmap, but it doesn’t seem like anyone is at the wheel. Lots of stuff still showing Q4 - 2023 estimated releases. I’ve submitted probably 10+ feature requests over months, and not a single one has shown up. Also, its very glitchy. I’ll vote on something or follow it, then come back later and the same thing I voted/followed is not checked. I really liked the idea of the Product Roadmap when it was announced, but it seems like its been abandoned.
@Todd_McKernan Hi Todd! Thank you for bringing this to our attention. Know that the roadmap is not abandoned! We’re actively working on improving the roadmap and feature request process to ensure better visibility and timeliness of updates. All of the improvements may not happen at once, but they’re on their way!
I do remember hearing previous mentions of the voted/followed buttons not properly registering, so I will make sure it’s noted that it still is happening. When did you first notice that happening?
Regarding the Q4 - 2023 labels, are there any specific articles you remember that still have them? I can look into those to ensure they get into the right hands to be updated. Either way, this is noted as well!
I noticed this happening months ago. I’ve confirmed the issue with support.
Here’s my real concern: it seems like Wix’s M.O. is to release products they can market, but they’re incomplete or buggy. Like my other post about gradients. It’s like Wix did the bare minimum so they could market that you can do gradients and then never followed through with making it actually usable for real web designers. The same thing happened last week when you guys released the Breadcrumbs menu. It’s technically there, but there are so many bugs that I verified with support that they had to apologize for it being so new. It’s not even responsive for heavens sake. It’s like you guys are just rushing things and not even testing them. And who knows how long I’ll have to wait to get usable breadcrumbs, because its technically released now.
Then, you look at the product roadmap and see that it A) is not collecting votes accurately, and B) 95% of what’s planned or pre-launch is for the restaurant app, the bookings app, the members pages, etc. Such little effort is being put into fixing the core product. It just feels like the Product Roadmap was setup to make it feel like we have an actual voice in what your priorities are without actually giving us that voice.
What’s next? Am I going to have to beg and hope for basic functionality to the core product while all your developers build a solution for dentists?
Here you go: (Q4 -2023 labels)
@pamela If you’re replying to someone in this forum, shouldn’t it automatically tag that person? That’s basically the expected standard.
@Todd_McKernan Wow! Thanks for taking the time to list these out! I’m already on it and have taken it with the relevant teams about these statuses.
As I mentioned, we’re actively working on making improvements and enhancements, and these areas are a main focus. Please know the feedback you’ve shared is valuable, and I’ve shared it with the team.
In regards to potential issues, support is definitely the right place, but I also understand and feel the frustration.
We’re here for you If you need anything else, let us know.
@pamela Thanks for your response, I really do appreciate the effort. But honestly, until I see some real changes, it feels like lip service. I was able to track down the outdated items on the Product Roadmap in 10 minutes. Why am I, a user, doing this? Doesn’t this kind of prove my original point that no one is managing the Product Roadmap? Shouldn’t someone be checking in with the PMs to make sure dates and status’ are accurate, even if its just once a month?
I’m itching to move a bunch of my sites from WordPress to Wix Studio, but I’m stuck waiting for you guys to step up the game with your CMS, clear out the old code from Wix Classic, revamp the blog, and give me some freedom with HTML/CSS in iFrames. Plus, making dynamic pages tweakable for each item, dropping the 100-page limit, fixing up accordions to work with CMS and repeaters, and making repeaters more versatile with customizable patterning (not just A/B) and CMS-connected images/backgounds. And then there’s the lack of quality integrations with the most important business tools clients demand, like Hubspot and Salesforce. I literally cannot get a single site migrated right now because there’s so many gaps.
You’re burning a lot of resources for your apps (Bookings, Restaurants, etc) that would be much better spent on building out a more robust CMS that lets users build those things themselves, however they want. You’re not competing against Squarespace with Wix Studio. You’re competing against Webflow, Framer, and Wordpress. But clearly someone at the top doesn’t understand what that means in terms of commitment of resources.
Reprioritize or lose.
P.S. If you don’t believe me, go look at the progress Framer has made in the last 4 months. They’re coming for you.
