Item anchor point overlapped by fixed header

Hi,

I have a question regarding the usage of anchor for a vertical in combination with a fixed header.

The anchors are defined for several items and then linked in the vertical menu. When selecting an item through the menu the page scrolls to the right position but part of the content is hidden by the fixed header.
Is there a possibility to add an offset or so to avoid that the begin of the item overlaps with the header?

Thanks,
Agathe

Hey @agathewedekind ,

Currently thereā€™s no option to set an offset to an anchor.
Maybe thereā€™s another element that you can anchor the menu to, so that the part that you need to be visible would be a bit below this anchor?

Hello Miri,
thanks for your fast reply.

Unfortunately it is not possible to anchor a different element. Is there a different solution to ensure that the anchor function considers a fixed header?

Thanks,
Agathe

Iā€™ll pass over your request to the EditorX product team, but I donā€™t think itā€™ll be available in the very near future.

why would this not be available in the near future - an offset on a fixed header is a pretty basic practice

I have exactly the same problem. With the fixed header the anchor links wonā€™t land in the desired place, cutting off the section titles.

Hi @agathewedekind @bspaulding @alexandramarques

As a workaround you can add anchors to invisible containers and set up the margin that equals the fixed header height

Please let me know if it works for you.

This is not reasonable since this option already exists in you traditional editorā€¦

@tal18574 Checked it out and you are correct that the classic Editor moves the anchor to underneath the fixed header. Will forward this feedback to the team.

Hi, are there any updates on compensating for the height of a ā€˜pinnedā€™ top navigation when using anchors? This seems like something that would have been addressed already, especially considering how common this type of navigation is.

Iā€™m also keen to see if there is an update on this. Anchor offsets (or at least having them take sticky items into account) is essential functionality as you offer the ability to have anchor menus.

I need this function too. The ā€œinvisibleā€ container is a hacky non-friendly way to fix this. Is this on the roadmap yet?
