I really hate AI Bots that send you in circles
Cancel the subscription then, the domain is unrelated
Thanks for the reply, but when I selected the option to cancel my subscription it displayed a message saying that I would loose my domain and it would be replaced by one from WIX.
And I really don’t want to loose the domain and have to reestablish all that exists around it.
The message states that your site will lose its connection to the domain, not that you’ll lose the domain altogether. Only premium sites can be connected to custom domains
Hi, Hamish_Gale !!
I believe that the Premium Plan subscription and the domain subscription are independent of each other, so even if you cancel the Premium Plan, you should still be able to retain ownership of the domain.
As Dean Ayalon mentioned, only the connection to your custom domain will be lost. Imagine that you currently own two separate trains: one is your Premium Plan and the other is your custom domain. You are paying the appropriate fees to maintain ownership of these two trains. Right now, the two trains are connected and “attached” to your site. Thanks to this connection, your site (the passenger car) can run at high speed. However, for some reason, you’ve decided to temporarily sell off one of the trains (the Premium Plan). Since the Premium Plan is the engine car pulling everything forward, once it’s gone, the site will no longer be able to run at high speed. It will instead be replaced by the engine for Wix’s free plan, which is much slower but will still keep your site running. The custom domain car can only connect to a Premium engine, so it will also be detached from your site at the same time. However, as long as you continue paying for your custom domain, you remain the owner of that train. Whenever you decide to reconnect it to a Premium engine, you can easily attach it again and restore full speed!
However
, there is something that I don’t fully understand at this point. Wix plans, whether paid or free, have certain limitations, such as storage space and the number of collections allowed. For example, if you had 100GB of data and 50 collections while connected to a Premium Plan, what would happen to this data if you switched the site to a free plan? I assume the data would remain stored, but I personally can’t say for certain. Does anyone know? How do the limitations manifest when downgrading from a Premium Plan to a free plan?

You don’t lose the domain unless you stop paying for the domain.
When you cancel the website subscription you will lose the connection between the website and the domain AFTER your subscription expires.
In the meantime, your subscription will not automatically renew and your domain will remain connected for all the days you already paid.
I have a similar Question If someone can help me, I got the Domain for free Under the Premium Plan, So if I cancel My Premium plan, Will I lose My domain then.

Yes, if you did not pay for it then you will lose it. You should transfer it to another domain provider first.
Yes, just pick a domain provider and contact their customer support to help you.
