I just lost my 2nd client due to the poor display speed of the wix website … clients go to WordPress

What to say, it’s been almost 2 years since I asked the Wix teams to do something to significantly improve the loading speed of websites including visitor interactions. Switching to Wix turbo has not changed anything and even if speedtests like GTMetric or Pingdom give a score between A and B, Google’s speedtest completely tackles Wix’s result with scores never exceeding 35 points out of 100 .
( I have never managed to have a website that exceeds 35 points)

In addition, Google warned in a press release more than 8 months ago that the loading speed of websites would be a significant condition in the display of the website in search results. And Google is 98% of global query traffic

So indeed, I can reduce the animations etc … to improve performance etc … as suggested by Wix recommendations; but if it is to have a website with text and 2/3 images, I don’t need wix to make a “microsoft office word website” on the internet.

I have just recorded a 2nd departure from one of my clients, because he tells me that the site is not professional when the speed takes more than 7 seconds to display a website while it is in fiber.

Finally, for those who think that I did not optimize the website, I did ALL that was to be done (it’s my job) Here, the problem is localized at the level of Wix technology …

I told myself that yes it came from my skills and that it was my fault, that I did not know how to optimize websites; and… then I went to the Wix success story to see Ruby Love site, and I did a test at Google, and… the result is catastrophic … so it does not come from me

So it’s a cry for help so that the Wix teams put in place a simpler code on their websites (script) so as not to put me in danger anymore

But… The only thing I remember is that the deployment is for the end of July 2020, and that it will take time. What is the maximum date of deployment? The new templates will benefit from this new technology ?
There is quite little information in the end, plus a promotional video…

You need to optimize your site. If you don’t optimize your then your site loading time increase and it will leave bad impact on users. I was facing the same but now my site is optimize. Please check its speed

@sheyla Wix says end of July… I’m still waiting. Wix always has estimates but never meets them. Its always months later than their “estimate”. Look at the GDPR compliance new cookie feature that the Devs said would be released within a week. Its still not here almost a month later. This is sadly way too long to wait for site speeds to become reasonably professional and meet the standards of websites. Very disappointing.

Could it be that PageSpeed Insights is junk? I ran speedtests for the following sites (I think you would agree these are sites that should be getting those “professional” speeds).

Everyone put your hands together for ESPN(dot)com.

P.S. I ran google(dot)com and it received an 82. Good grief…there is absolutely nothing to display and they can’t even make it into the green.

So just because other websites have bad ratings, should I accept it for my website? Well done ! Great challenger mentality!

Apple, and Cie enjoy an exceptional notoriety which is not the case of the small companies that I coach, so YES I expect Wix to do what is necessary to improve the speed of the websites!

Moreover, the subject has been pending for years, like the GDPR too …

It was no lack of challenger mentality. Shannon was merely pointing out the elephant in the room. If the testing app reports slow load times on websites by the big boys, your rating should be considered in context to those… because we know those sites are optimized and load fast. If Apple can only score a 42, then something doesn’t seem right. Apple is not on Wix.

I’m aware of how it looks on mobile, but at least it loads faster

it’s bad, whether you are aware of how your websites look on phone or not.

The majority of users visit websites on their phones. And as a user, if I visited a website like yours, I would immediately leave.

There’s no point of having a fast website, if it’s not optimized for users to easily find what they’re looking for. Your current website is not navigable.

Hi,
FYI (of all): Google is launching Core Web Vitals in May 2021
and the speed test is one of the conditions.
So team Wix @stevenjose , @markapreston I hope you are ready for this as all SEO work will be in the trash otherwise…
