I have a page https://veblen.com/cfd and I want to make the images to be square, how do I do that?
Hi, @veblenone !!
While it’s certainly possible to make an image appear square using Wix features or CSS, if the image is always meant to be displayed as a square, it might be more reliable to crop the image itself into a square beforehand.
That said, Wix does allow you to visually present an image as a square as well. I don’t usually do this myself, so just to be sure, I tested it out. ![]()
Here’s how you can do it, please select the image you’ve placed on the page, then look at the “Size” section in the inspector panel on the right-hand side of the editor. Adjust the “W” (Width) and “H” (Height) values so that they form a 1:1 ratio.
Before you do that, be sure to click the padlock icon to unlock the aspect ratio lock. Once it’s unlocked, you should be able to freely edit the size — for example, setting it to 300px by 300px. After adjusting to a 1:1 ratio, you can click the padlock icon again to lock the aspect ratio. This should give you a square image visually.
After that, I recommend adjusting the focal point of the image. Since forcing the image into a square shape may crop parts of it, you’ll want to make sure the area you absolutely want to show remains visible. To do that, click on the image — a menu should appear, and among the options, you’ll find one labeled “Focal Point.” Use that to adjust the visible area until it looks just right. ![]()
