My Wix Studio is extremely slow and laggy, despite powerful hardware

I love wix studio, but this hits so close to home that I have stand with you on this.

(Note: I’m going to rant but I have a legitimate proposed solution that WIX may be in favor of if there is enough support. So if you agree with me like this & share it to wix)
.
The wix studio editor speed is the only thing I hate with a passion.
.
I was one of those novice suckers, who bought a $4k PC to “speed things up.” (It didn’t) I looked for every possible way too increase the speed Ethernet ect. but I’m maxed out at this point.
.
Even when you do utilize the velo code (which is amazing) it still kills so much time because the studio editors painstakingly slow response time. (Yes Velo speeds things up & makes cool things possible but the editors slowness still outweighs this truth)
.
On top of the fact that the servers begin to rate limit you increasingly more throughout your website build because your using more resources which is infuriating to say the least.
.
**So what’s a solution WIX would actually do?
.
Editor Performance Plans
If we want to utilize more recourses while editing to get it done faster even with more complexity tied into the mix then why shouldn’t we able to?
.
Those servers can’t be cheap to run & if we all had free rein over their recourses then WIX would be bankrupt over night in energy bills.
.
So let’s make it clear to WIX
.

  1. We understand this fact.
    &
  2. We love the editor enough that even though it’s extremely slow we are still here supporting you :index_pointing_at_the_viewer: because everything else is still great.

All we ask for is the ability to make our editor speed a choice instead of an unavoidable universal struggle that can never be fixed because you have to govern the server recourses to control overhead costs.

I would pay for the plan that lets me actually edit at the speed of a finger click the entire time & not just when I have nothing in the page.

So Happy I wasn’t the only one frustrated.

Even the published website are slow~ Wix studio has a lot of potential. I just hope they can fix everything and make it more intuitively.

I second this. I love Wix. I love Wix Studio. BUt I am considering purchasing a new M5 MacBook Pro because I actually physically cannot use Wix Studio on Chrome on a M1 MacBook Air. I click, I wait, the site moves into position and I rep[ert this for hours…. it is beyound frustrating and yes, customers will not use this service because of it. :slightly_frowning_face:

BUT, even if I waste £1500 on a new computer, will it help me at all? I don’t think it will sadly - the issue is with Wix and the exponential time it takes to calculate the position of components once you make a change! What can we do Wix team?

Don’t waste your money. It really will not fix the slow editing problems.
I know almost every tweak & shortcut but its a server issue at its core.

Not to be a black piller but at this point I don’t think WIX will ever fix this problem & its obvious that they are purposefully misunderstanding their userbase on this issue because they don’t want higher server costs.

One key tip I have found to work well: get a dedicated VPN that you can have at your disposal through NordVPN or others. When the editor starts slowing down & the 429 & 503 errors start showing just switch to incognito & then turn on the dedicated IP & continue.
