It shows in GoogleAnalytics that our new site www.soham.lt loads during 10-12s. It’s so slow and bounce rate is very high. I read all instructions what to do and did what I understood. But I’m not a specialist. Who could help me with landing page speed, etc.?
have a read of the Wix Support page.

Also, a previous reply from Tal (Wix Mod) about it too.
Hi all,
In most cases, adding lots of images, animations and other heavy components to your site causes slow loading time of your site. In order to resolve the issue, I recommend checking out the following articles:
- https://support.wix.com/en/article/understanding-site-loading-time
Moreover, I recommend running a speed test to determine what causes the slow speed time of your site: - https://support.wix.com/en/article/running-a-web-page-speed-test
- https://support.wix.com/en/article/interpreting-the-results-of-a-web-page-speed-test
As for mobile sites, please check out these articles: - https://support.wix.com/en/article/mobile-site-loading-time
- https://support.wix.com/en/article/troubleshooting-mobile-live-site-issues
If your site still loads slow after adding lighter elements to your site, please contact Wix Support team and provide them with the link to the speed test so that they can check on their end what causes the slow loading time. In case of a mobile site issue, please send them all the information requested at the end of the 6th article.
As for sites with code , I recommend checking out Yoav’s announcements:
https://www.wix.com/code/home/forum/product-updates/we-re-getting-faster-learn-how-to-get-your-site-ready
https://www.wix.com/code/home/forum/product-updates/test-your-wix-code-site-with-server-side-rendering
If you have a site with code that runs slow, please provide us with a site URL, a video of the issue using screencast and the pages to which code was added so that we can check it on our end. Note that that this refers only to sites with code.
Regards,
Tal.
In simple terms it is a case of just making sure that the first page of your website, either your home page or a landing page, is not jam packed full of things to display like tables, repeaters, pictures etc.
I myself have a basic landing page as my website’s home page has images displayed on it and so with the landing page shown first, it gives the website time for everything on my home page to be ready when the user clicks to go to it from my landing page.
Without it and going straight to my home page instead can make it feel like the website is taking a while to load up, whereas it is in fact just down to the devices hat the user is using to view the website in.
Take older mobile phones or computers compared to devices nowadays, older devices will load websites much slower than newer and modern devices.
Plus, the same with internet speed and the places where users are able to access your site in, some people are using fibre broadband or 4g+ or even 5g now too, whereas some other users might still be using the old fashioned copper broadband or even 3g or 4g speeds.
Also, make sure that there is not much above the fold on that first page the user sees, so that the page will load up a lot quicker. Here is a quick website found about it, you can find a lot more just searching for it too.

Finally, also check for any third party apps that you use on your site or calls to third parties that you do in your code for example.
It might be something as simple as not Wix being to blame with the slow speed, however it is just Wix waiting for a third party to finish loading completely before it can then show the page to you.
Many a times have people moaned about their website speeds and when they run a website speed test it goes to show them that it isn’t Wix but a third party making the website seem slow to load.
if that was the case, then as Wix won’t have any control over this third party app, then all you can do is to remove it from your site or look at seeing if there is another way to implement the third party through either Wix Fetch and using their own API or through HTTP functions for example.
i followed all wix instructions and check with google lighthouse tool - poor results. so i decided to create a blank page just to check - still poor results.
you can check your self for the blank page:
https://www.apartmentsnearme.biz/tests
We really think to rebuild the site somewhere else, because wix platfrom right know just not making it load fast as google seo needs.
a big contributor to that is a lot for call backs, script size that is not in our control.
Hello Rudman,
poor results is relativ, do you have also some facts, some charts?
But yes the speed could really be improved. I hope this will be done in future.
yes, i git facts, see attached lighthouse from google, and this evaluation will affect the google ranking - and this is for the blank page. there is nothing on the page except one word of text.
Well, i am sure they will work on it.
Just need some time.
there is posts here from 2018 that they say that they work on it, I’m starting to think that i did a mistake to have my business running on wix
I should have done more homework, the good old saying is right - if its too easy they hiding something else…
I often use different SEO tools, like Sitechecker, to check all necessary parameters. It’s a great site to verify rankings , backlinks, traffic, and so on. So, you can make some changes, and your site will work faster.
