What is it?
Editor X introduces a new set of editing permissions.
This allows you to create custom roles with granular editing permissions for each site contributor and member of your team — from designers, content editors to developers and SEO experts.
This way users can focus on their own tasks inside the editor, authrorized by their role while all other actions will be disabled.
Every user can hover his avatar inside the Editor and see his assigned roles.
Where?
The process of creating custom roles, changing existing roles and assigning them to users remains as-is. For site contributors - it is under the ‘Roles & Permissions’ area in the site dashboard and for team members - it’s inside the ‘Team Management’ in the Partners Dashboard.
Note : Editor X permissions are enforced only on the display-level at this stage.
Sure, I’ve spoken to support about this previously but still seems to be an issue.
If I set a client as Co-owner with all the billing permissions, they cannot purchase an Ascend plan for their website. So what I have to do is make them owner of the website before they can purchase Ascend. Generally we never give ownership to clients but it’s the only way round it so far.
Totally makes sense, thanks for sharing your experience around this.
This is a known issue that will be fixed soon. Once fixed, Co-Owner, Billing Manager, and any custom role with the billing permissions will allow to purchase an Ascend plan.
