Hello,

This feature is very useful but would it be possible to add permissions for content management. I donā€™t see anything like this.
The idea is just to grant only permissions to people in charge of adding content to collections.

Thank you for your feedback Francis.

Hi Francis, in our future plans we will introduce permissions to update content that is stored in collections from the business manager. Currently inside Editor X, this permissions is combined part of the ā€œEdit Site Structureā€ permission.

great steps but i think you should add colabaration now

Stay tuned! :zap:

Thank you for your feedback Seru! As Naama mentioned, stay tuned for more updates.

Itā€™s opened for Beta partners already.

Great!

Is it the Role under Editor X ā†’ Edit Code == > Can write code and manage collections.
Or another one?

Thank you for the clarification.

Hi @fvwebdesigner , the ā€œEdit Codeā€ is an Editor X permission. A set of permissions is accounted as a role. A role can be assigned to users. So either you use one of the predefined roles or create a new role and check any permission (1 or more from any group). Creating a new role with the ā€œEdit Codeā€ permission will allow the user to write code and manage collections.
Hereā€™s a quick gif how to create a new role -

Hi Naama, this is a first step but I think the scope of this role is too broad (writing code / editing pages to add comments) to be granted to clients . It is not restricted enough as they can see the scripts or make some modifications. Writing code or adding comments should not be required when this role is selected. These options should be selected on demand depending on the context to keep only the right to manage the collections.

Maybe I misunderstood your original question.
For clients I would use one of the predefined roles of Website Viewer or Website Commenter . Both donā€™t allow any editing, the latter enables to comment.

@naamar , I would like to give access to my clients only for filling collections nothing more. So, is it possible to get a kind of role like ā€˜Edit Collectionsā€™ without rights to modify someting else. Hope that is clearer. Sorry to be confused.

@naamar and @fvwebdesigner Weā€™d also like to see this feature ā€“ a very specific, standalone privilege for editing collections. We try to give our clients the ability to self-manage the content of repeaters and dynamic pages. To do that, we want them to have edit rights to the collections that provide data for those repeaters and dynamic pages. Unfortunately, to give them that capability, we have to assign a role that includes more ā€˜dangerousā€™ editing privileges. In fact, Iā€™d go a step further and say that Iā€™d like to be able to assign edit privileges collection-by-collection.

@fvwebdesigner Hi Franscis, this is in the short term plans of Wix Data. Adding @giedrius-grazevicius
