Premium Plan Canceled, but Domain Transfer Still Active – What to Do?

I attempted to transfer my domain from an existing provider to Wix and use a ready-made template. Yesterday, I completed the payment, but the domain was transferred to the wrong template by mistake. So, I deleted the template and tried to cancel the transfer, but I was unable to do so. Now, I don’t have a template.

My questions are:

  • If there is no existing template, can I assign my domain to a newly created template after the transfer is completed?
  • Is it possible to cancel the domain transfer? If so, how can I redo the process?
  • I have canceled my premium plan, but the domain transfer is still active and in progress. How can I resolve this issue?

I also tried using VeloBot for guidance, but I couldn’t get the right directions.

It may be difficult to give a definite answer, but since the domain is something you own, it won’t disappear. You might want to wait for a while in this state. (If there’s no progress after about half a day, or at most 48 hours, I recommend contacting support.) :upside_down_face:

For now, consider the site template and the domain as completely separate entities that operate independently. Deleting the template likely did not cancel the domain transfer process. :thinking:

That said, Wix allows you to freely assign domains to different sites, and the same applies to premium plans. Essentially, only sites with a “premium badge” can have a custom domain “name tag” attached. Both can be swapped freely. :grin:

So, once the domain transfer to Wix is complete, you should be able to reassign it freely, just like adjusting badges and name tags. :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

Thank you but the problem is not solved, the details of this issue have been published today and it has been 7 days. I canceled everything and started without resetting, but there was no solution with the chat. I deleted and canceled all of these “Radical solution” :grin:

I’m not sure I follow the issue exactly. Once you’ve initiated the process of transferring a domain from one registrar to another, there’s not really a way to undo that. The domain is likely to have already transferred to Wix.
