This week was a blast with our best Studio Hours session so far! New features, such as Vertical text, New Section and Cell capabilities in Studio, and creating CMS collections with AI.
We’ve also made a change to the custom color picker based on Community feedback and more.

Shoutout to @slimlinedesigns for inspiring a change with the custom color picker in all editors.
We’ve changed a behavior allowing you to copy a hex code with a # and simply paste it in the color picker - we’ll handle the rest and automatically remove the # if present!

New Studio capability: add text vertically
Now you can add vertical text to Studio sites. Accommodate languages with a vertical writing system, like Chinese or Japanese, fit text into a particular space, like a thin grid cell, or simply create an original design. If you need to make adjustments, you can easily switch text from vertical to horizontal.

New Section and Cell capabilities
As announced in the Open Studio Event at the beginning of January, we’re introducing new capabilities for Sections - Rearrange with drag and drop, and Merge Cells.
Now you can reorganize cells in the Section Grid using drag and drop. Instead of multi-selecting elements to find the ”swap” function, you can simply drag one cell and drop it onto another to effortlessly get the layout you want.
Additionally, save time and enjoy greater control over your design’s layout with the ability to select multiple cells and seamlessly merge them into a single cell.

- Create CMS collections with AI
With the help of AI, you can now create collections with just a few details - AI will set it up with the relevant fields. What’s more, you can choose to have the AI generate a few sample items so you can keep designing until you’re ready to add content.
