Hey all, we’ve been experiencing serious issues with the regular editor - text moving on the page, strips hiding content on mobile, not able to select strip handles, strips can’t be moved, what looks fine on the editor does not look the same on desktop or mobile. This is happening with multiple sites for multiple clients. We are as frustrated as they are. We have contacted support multiple times - we’re told it’s been escalated but no communication and worse, no results. The text box issue (not being able to select or edit text, move a text box and copy/paste text) has been an issue for more than a year - a page refresh used to fix that. Now, all of these problems are chronic to the point it’s adding hours to our production time and the product is horrible. Not sure what else to do at this point. Is there anyone out there at WIX who can address this? We have almost 200 clients we manage WIX websites for and keep landing new clients. I am afraid to launch another site for fear what will happen to it. I posted on the FB Group page and apparently this is a widespread problem. This is the first time in 11 years where I am extremely concerned about the impact of these issues on my business. Any suggestions?
I too have had continuos bugs in the editor for years and unfortunately meet the same result you do… nothing. I am told it’s a browser issue so many times I stopped reporting them. I know there is a major push with EX BUT not all business want/can afford these sites and prefer the main editor for ease of use as well. Hopefully wix will put some new love into working all these bugs out!
Yes it’s been frustrating. We’re at a point now where these problems are hurting my clients’ businesses - big space gaps and text boxes and other content hidden behind solid strips (which move after we’ve fixed and republished). Mobile is even worse. We’ve used WIX exclusively for 11 years but now I must seriously look for an alternative web design platform because if this continues or gets worse (as it has during the past year) this will hurt my own business as well. We can’t sell services with chronic functionality problems we can’t fix or get properly addressed by WIX. We don’t use Editor X at all - when it was released we were led to believe it was ready for market. It was not. It still lacks some features which don’t justify the increased cost. WIX’s own marketing as DIY conflicts with its increasing prices & premium editor - we fight this every day as web professionals. So many WIX leads and other businesses think WIX is just a Squarespace or GoDaddy alternative because of how WIX markets itself. Editor X and Velo have not helped our marketing - clients don’t care how something is created - they just want what they want for the best value (they have no clue nor do they want to know the difference between EdX and the regular editor & therefore fail to understand the cost difference). Editor X is also a lot more complicated to use which makes it difficult for me to get my team trained efficiently.
