I’ve done a bit more than a block out at this stage (desktop only) but my initial testing has revealed each page is taking 2-5 seconds to load, sometimes longer depending. Once the site has been cached all is good.
I even created a test page with only a header and footer and still lags 2-5 seconds…any thoughts on why this could be? I thought maybe it was the page transitions but having this off does not help.
It’s as if the entire page is fully loading first. I’ve created a couple sites on my own without using a CMS but have yet to encouter an initial delay such as this when going from page to page before it’s cached. It’s just not as snappy as I’d like, it’s a bit slow and sluggish
Any ideas on how I could improve the speed? I greatly appreciate it, thanks.
hello there
I’ve done the test on the site you are working with from my side and all looks good in terms of user experience speed and site performance
the only long loading time speed (2s) was https://jvoye8.editorx.io/logplanllc/projects but as I can see there are some heavy content
along with this to make sure that it is not only me, I’ve done the test with Google Page Speed test and still it was ok with my internet speed:
Hi Andrew, thanks for double checking this. I’m also able to get good performance score on desktop. Once the page is cached it’s very fast, which is great.
When the site is re-published though, it goes back to “regular speed” which can take 2-3 seconds per initial page load. The projects page with maps is understandable as there’s a lot to load here. Although even on a test page I created with only a header and footer there was a small delay and I’m wondering if there’s any way to make these pages a bit more snappy.
The test page didn’t have much to optimize so I’m not sure if there’s anything else I can do on my end. Appreciate you checking in though, thank you.
