Sitemap not generated and only error page visible

How can I solve the issue that my sitemap is not generated in Wix, and only an error page is visible at the /sitemap.xml URL?

I checked in Wix editor how the sitemap looks like, but I get the same result: only an error page.

Due to this, Google stopped indexing pages, even when I manually add them to the Google index, so I loose a lot of traffic.

I know I can generate a page with all links myself, but when I do so, Google still lists as a cause of crawled, but not indexed pages that no sitemap is available.

Anyone know if I can manually create a sitemap.xml and add it to my wix site or better: how to solve the issue in the first place?

I am having the same problem and there isn´t any solution. I tried everything and i don´t know whats to do now. I have 157 URLs, 130 dynamic :frowning: It is frustrating. Did you get some solution?

No, and no one seems to have it, and no one from Wix responds.

I’m considering leaving Wix, because without traffic, de shop/site is useless to me, and organic should definitely be a substantial part of my traffic, and due to this, it’s not possible.

Not in my instance… unfortunately.

I’m building another site to leave Wix because of this. It’ll take some time before I have everything arranged, but I can’t afford to let my site live without traffic.

I’m also disappointed in the lack of support or response from Wix.

If you find yourself stuck in an endless chatbot loop when speaking with Wix’s chatbot, try requesting “human support” to connect with a Wix Support representative. Additionally, consider reaching out to the forum manager, @noahlovell , about this matter; they might be able to facilitate some progress. :raised_hands:

Well, just to inform those interested in this topic:

Since I didn’t receive a solution for 5 months in a row, not even a response from Wix, nor any solution at customer service, our traffic went down so much that we needed to act. My company has now left Wix.

We have set up a self-hosted solution with Ghost CMS, powered with n8n workflows in the back using AI. Although we originally chose for Wix because many things are already offered as a service, it proved to be a lot less work to set that up than to build our original site in Wix, and… for 10% of the monthly price, so we’re quite happy with that.

I can certainly recommend solutions like that: less work, less costs and perfect to your needs.
