Stop adding useless features for cool edgy art kids, and start focusing on real website fundamentals

Everytime I see a new feature list it’s some useless gimmick and these edgy websites full of tricks being demonstrated. But what about the fundamentals, the important things?? Most of us are designing real websites, for schools, for tradies, for cafes, for accountants.

How about focusing some efforts on:

Fixing the hamburger menu system to make it more versatile, ever since you got rid of lightbox menus, these new menus are really restrictive, you can’t even choose which way to slide it out, I cant stress how disappointing removing lightbox menus is, if anything you should of leant into it, refined that ability and made it even better.

Fixing the teleport style scrolling from the top of site that the hamburger menus now do when going to an anchor point, when it used to go up and down smoothly. Fix your anchor point scrolling from hamburger menus wix!

Changing the default back to px instead of some kind of auto adjusting px*. I spend a quarter of my time turning off settings that make the website not work properly ever since editor x turned to wix studio. I really don’t know what you tried to achieve with the obsessions with auto resizing. Again, stick with the fundamentals, old school fixed pixels are easy and predictable to work with.

Making shopping ecommerce better, a true rival for shopify

Making wix bookings better, with more versatility of where the links take you, as the default layouts are not practical

These are just to name a few

I say all this Wix because I CARE, not because I’m a hater

I absolutely agree. I am frustrated that shiny new animations keep getting announced while fundamentals are ignored. I loved Editor X because it gave me control. It did what I asked it to do. The Studio Editor constantly fights me. It’s flaky and the interface is inconsistent and cluttered.

Couldnt agree, more. I miss editor X

Hey @Asher_Woodland!

Want to acknowledge that this feedback has been seen and will be shared with the team

I hope I can provide some further insights on some of the points raised.

The main reason for this is site accessibility. Adding a menu inside a lightbox is not accessible, and with the introduction of EAA (European Accessibility Act) and other directives introduced, it’s important to help guide creators towards creating more accessible sites. That said, it’s also important to hear your feedback. Are you able share more about the use case for it?

Are you able to explain further? For the most part, you have the same features as the previous menus, with new features added.

I’m not sure I’ve come across this. If you suspect it to be a bug, it’s worth reporting following the steps here - Wix Studio - How to report a bug

Other feedback around menus has been shared with the team

The team will soon be rolling out an improved ecommerce experience for Wix Stores, which addresses a lot of feature requests. We’ll share more details closer to the launch.

I think this would be a cool feature! I’ll raise it :raising_hands: I know px* hasn’t been for everyone, but it has introduced and made building responsive sites more accessible to other creators. If you haven’t already, I’d recommend watching the Essentials Course.

Shared the other feedback too.

Valuable feedback is what helps us to grow together. Appreciate the time taken to share your thoughts :purple_heart:

Chatted briefly with the Bookings team - are you able to share more details about the links and layout? They’d be curious to better understand your POV
