Subscribers widget problem and page speed loading issues.

Hi All,

Firstly I wanted to say that that having only recently set up my website, I am on a steep learning curve here. But having tried a couple of other site building sites prior, I’m pretty impressed with the Wix one. There seems to be lot’s of people knocking Wix online, and it does have a few frustrations for sure, but for me it’s been really good overall.

My main issue that I’m experiencing right now is the slowdown of my pages loading times which seems to be being caused by the subscribers box/widget? I did message support, but got a bog standard set of links to go and read for myself and a ‘if you have lots of subscribers the widget takes longer to load’ kinda reply.

My site is brand new so I only have two subs so far anyway, but does that mean if I get 000,s of subscribers the issue will be much worse? :frowning:

Btw, I have not posted my domain name here, because I assume these pages get indexed in Google’s search results and I don’t want it showing up.

I will summarise the issue below:

Subscribers Widget, and actually Facebook/Twitter ones slowing my page loading time terribly. I originally had a subs box in the header and the footer because it’s really important to my site to get subscribers, but had to take out the one from the footer to speed up page loading times slightly.

To my simple way of thinking, on the face of it could it not just be a form (just like the Contact Us form which loads quickly) which would make the page in turn then load much faster?

Is there anyway to improve this please, it’s a real headache affecting page speed?

So have you enabled Cache Engine on Pages? If not goto Page Settings and under Advanced activate Cache Rendering and test again.

Then I would suggest reading the recommendation on how to create a good post here on the forum, do not post several different issues on the same post please. I can answer one of them but not the other… So please update this post and create a new one with your other issue in. You will get faster response.

Hi Andreas,

Thank you so much for responding, I wasn’t sure if any would and apologies if I posted in the wrong way.

That’s a good idea, I will edit my original post down to 1, and repost the other 2 questions individually.

I looked at turning on Cache Rendering but my website is being updated all the time through out the day so wasn’t sure if that would be any use? I think you can set it to hourly if I’m thinking about the same thing, but if it’s being updated all the time will that be any good? Plus my forum section, will it affect that?

It is a good idea and I considered it before, but I still feel like there must be a better way for the ‘subscribers box’ to load faster? As I said like a form or some other way to improve it’s speed. I really want to have the box at the top and bottom of each of my sites pages, but it’s really slowing it down.

Google still sees the page as slow because of it I think, and obviously that hurts SERPs.
