Hi, I’m looking for a way to switch the website of a client to a new design I made, without him losing important data like member accounts, invoice references, orders, & stats.
His original website was made with Wix HTML Editor. The new one in the Wix Studio.
From what I’ve found it’s seems it isn’t possible but I find that very hard to believe since this would mean businesses who build their website on Wix can’t grow or rebrand their brand to stay up with the trends, without losing al that important information…
So really hope I’m wrong here and someone can point me to the solution
Thanks!
Only Editor X sites were compatible for website “migration “ to Wix Studio. Regular classic editor sites are not.
Most information can be exported but cannot be imported.
So they can either re-design directly on the classic editor site or keep the new Studio site without their data history.
So this means my client and all his members will lose their member profile/history/invoices when the website is rebranded?
I’m finding it hard to fathom why you wouldn’t make this possible.
This would just be a mayor inconvenience for all members (already 2000+)
And from your point of view, this gives businesses no reason to stay on Wix, since they have to start from scratch anyway.
Can’t help but be disappointed about this.
I found myself facing the same problem. Rebuilding the pages is fine, but the big problem is that it is not possible to migrate blog posts, subscriptions, users, and statistics.
Is this the case?
That is correct. It is also a huge reason why my clients do not use Wix made apps.
My clients use 3rd party apps that embed on Wix so that when they “move”, they take their with them because they just embed them on their new site.
So instead of using Wix Stores app, for example, they will use Ecwid. They are still on Wix but their store app is easily connected on their new site with a quick iframe code.
But also, I don’t move clients to Wix Studio if they want a responsive site. Instead, they go to SiteJet or another platform.
