I created a website in Wix Studio using Chrome, and now that the site is live, it’s not displaying at all on Safari. I’m using a 2015 MacBook Pro, so it’s not super old. Also, I have 2 other websites, 1 designed in Editor X, and 1 designed in Wix (not Wix studio) and those display perfectly fine in Safari. Does anyone have any thoughts on what might be happening?
The website realistically shouldn’t be having any issues on safari. I’d be happy to take a look at it though if you’re willing to share the address of the website?
I updated my 2015 MacBook Pro to Monteray (12.7.1) and that fixed the issue. I was using version 11 before when it wasn’t working. But my concern is that many people have older computers, including my mom who wasn’t able to view the website and refuses to update her computer because she doesn’t like updating her computer. I think there are many people out there who think this way, which is why I’m concerned that this website is only displaying on recently updated versions of Safari.
The issue was also happening on my iPad, which I updated from OS 14 to 15 and that fixed it. But again, I’d imagine many people who visit the website wouldn’t care enough to go update their computer software just to visit our website.
I visited your site with Safari 17.1 and it works perfectly… As you mentioned, perhaps there are some issues with the compatibility with older browsers.
Thanks for your reply. As I mentioned above, I was aware that the issue was related to an update. That’s not really the concern I’m trying to express. But, I don’t think anyone from the support team is really concerned about the issue I’ve mentioned, and that troubles me a bit.
I’ve been a loyal Wix user now for 10 years and I have 3 premium websites: 1 with Wix, 1 with Editor X, and 1 with Wix Studio. I’m finding that lately, things are turning a bit chaotic and the support team doesn’t seem to be listening to the concerns of the customers.
I moved to Editor X because I found Wix wasn’t very responsive. When I was learning Editor X, I was using the Editor X YouTube page. I was confused when the features I was seeing in the videos were different than mine, so I contacted support who informed me that the Youtube page videos were out of date and I should learn from the Editor X academy page. Basically, your own YouTube videos were giving me incorrect information!
Now that I’ve learned from Editor X Academy and LOVE Editor X, I’m coming to realize I need to re-learn the platform via Wix Studio. Honestly, I wasn’t overly concerned and decided to try a website on Wix Studio, only to realize that if you are 1 of the millions of people out there using a version a safari that isn’t up to date, you will not see the website.
I’m not convinced my experience will resonate with your team at Wix, and I’m expecting a fairly generic copy-paste response, but I’d say you should start genuinely listening to your customers otherwise you might start losing us. I’m hanging on by a thread, to be honest. I truly love the Wix platforms, but the inconsistency from Wix, and not listening to customer’s concerns, is becoming troubling to me.
I just had a nightmarish experience with Wix Studio. Finished what I thought was a well-designed site - based on a template - not too much fancy stuff, sent to my client (who’s on a 2 year old Dell) and EVERYTHING displayed wrong - it was so frightening and I can only imagine what she thought!! Half the page wasn’t even showing - its possible, nay probable that I am still doing it wrong but this experience has really left a bad taste in my mouth with regard to Wix Studio! (I was having fun with it until the client meeting!!) eeek!
I hear you, as WIX customer find that their support is not what it should be.
Every time I call them or create a ticket, more often than not, they seem to know less than I do about their system, and I don’t feel like the issues are handled by their developers with enough urgency.
Sorry, I thought you were from the Wix team; my bad! Thanks for listening to my rant anyways, and for looking into my site working on Safai.
Yes, I agree with you about customer support. I’ve had a few callbacks with an Editor X professional which I was super excited about, only to find out that team member didn’t really know a ton about the program. It was a bit confusing, to be honest.
Wow, @user840 this is exactly why I came here. It’s pretty ridiculous that our sites can’t display properly on Safari as recent as a 2020 release. Not sure where to complain abou this…
I spoke to a customer service agent over the phone who said “Most people in the world keep their browsers updated”. So out of touch with reality. Lots of people including myself, don’t always do updates. If the computer is working fine, many people choose to leave it as is.
