@Paul Gotcha! I think it could also be applied to Rich Text dataset elements too.
It’d be great to be able to use gradients across the bored for colors on site. Not sure how hard it would be to implement but it’d be great to have a fully workable gradient editor/color picker that we can use for background and buttons, etc. etc.
It’d open up TONS of possibilities for design, and make things way easier as well.
second this, the store needs some more options on product page also. ![]()
The abbility to show images in repaeaters in their real aspect ratio, like e.g. square, landscape, vertical etc. So not cropped.
An accordion! I know it can be done with Velo, but with no code would be better.
@leo can you share the resources on how to develop one in Velo, please?
Hi @teejay
You have work with a (vertical) repeater in which you have a trigger (title) and and a container with content. This container should be collapsed. See my screendumps and the code. I hope this helps.
// API Reference: Introduction - Velo API Reference - Wix.com
// “Hello, World!” Example: Velo Learning Center
$w . onReady ( function () {
$w ( '#repeater1' ). forEachItem (( $item ) => {
$item ( '#trigger' ). onClick (() => {
if ( $item ( ‘#contentContainer’ ). collapsed )
$item ( ‘#contentContainer’ ). expand ();
else
$item ( ‘#contentContainer’ ). collapse ();
})
})
});
#1 - The addition of Google AdSense to Editor X websites (fixed and/or responsive ads; OR a workaround)
#2 - The addition of reCAPTCHA to the standard Editor X Sign Up Form
#3 - The addition of the “Join the Community” option to a Custom Sign Up Form
I realize I am late, but using gradients or patterns as a site background is some low hanging fruit that can eliminate design time, and reduce page load speed. As of now, the only way to get gradient background is to make a gradient image and place it behind elements.
If maybe in the design tab in the inspector panel with a gradient option to allow containers, buttons, sections, and pages to utilise gradients. It can be a checkmark in “Fill Color & Opacity”. When selected, Background becomes “background color 1”, and “background color 2” appears below, with the option to add a third background color. Change Gradient Angle option would be a plus. Thank you for reading.
P.S. Adobe Fonts!

Text boxes:
- add margins (paragraph spacing)
- add text-transform
- add indent
- add columns
- gradient

Text themes:
- settings above
- custom styles (eg: for quotes, footnotes…)
If you want to get fancy add a type scale and vertical rhythm assistant ![]()
Any other suggestions anyone?
…these guys have a nice approach, jet missing the themes ![]()
CSS Stylesheet access:
Please allow us access to the CSS Stylesheet so we can customise elements to precision.
“CLASSES”:
For example, if I have multiple buttons throughout my site and I want to change the design of all them, in Editor X I have to manually go through and change the design for each one. With a Classes feature, if I change the design of one button, it changes the design for all the buttons within the class throughout the website.
Hover State Interactions for ALL elements:
Instead of having to dd elements to a container and then add an Interaction, it should be directly baked in to each element. For example if a click on a paragraph element or image element, I should be able to click the ‘Lightning’ icon in the inspector panel and add an interaction straight away without having to put it in a container box.
Page Transitions:
Currently there is a terrible flashing page transition that cannot be turned off or customised unlike Wix Editor. Please allow us to customise it or AT LEAST TURN IT OFF! In the future allow us to add more advanced and custom page transitions.
Scroll effects:
Wix Editor seems to have WAY MORE scroll effects for strips. Please bring them over to Editor X asap. In the future add more advanced scroll animations and timers like Webflow allows.
Editor X team needs to literally research Webflows product and have a look at their powerful feature set. That is the ONLY way Editor X will be able to compete.
Great job Team!! @eduardog
adding some sort of functionality like classes would be a HUGE boon.
Would love to have more options for animations/interactions as well.
Gradient background colours on containers and pages.
I join my colleagues above
Areas for improvement:
- Add a css style sheet
I think the biggest news that we are waiting for is to have the possibility to modify the css of our site. It’s a feature we’ve all been waiting for! Not having control over our website’s css is wix’s biggest flaw. Get inspired by your competitor Webflow!
- Review the “page” tab, the user experience is a disaster, no way to create subfolders, to sort our pages …
To go further, it would be interesting to rework the structure of URLS. I often find myself frustrated when I want to create a custom URL path. For example in the page tab if I want to have a folder with the name “cola” which includes two pages named: “normal” and “zero” inside, I should have this as results:
https://www.mywebsitewix.com/ cola/normal
https://www.mywebsitewix.com/ cola/zero
Today it is not possible to do this, it is frustrating
Someone already talked about this 2 years ago!
https://www.wix.com/velo/forum/coding-with-velo/how-to-add-an-url-path-for-normal-page
- Implement the features already existing of the old wix editor.
It is interesting to work on new features, but how do you move forward if the basic features of wix are not yet fully implemented ?! I don’t understand why " Fitmode " is still not available on this new editor …
- More customization on the applications!
Some colleagues above have already spoken a little about it. It would be interesting to have more flexibility regarding the customizations of applications such as Wix booking, wix store and others … I am not even talking about the aesthetics of its applications, which in my opinion, totally spoils the user experience from our website! The designs you offer on this kind of application are so 2007! You absolutely must review the design of its applications. Test yourself your wix-store application, the design is so bad !
- The prices of this new editor!
I do not see any colleague talking about it on this topic, and yet, it is an important and decisive point! Editor X is very expensive, that’s a problem, especially if there aren’t all the features we had on the old editor! I find that scandalous, that’s what pushes me to go to the competition! We don’t have a promotion like you did for the old publisher, it’s very frustrating, we have sidelined ourselves and we find it unfair!
There is still a long way to go, I’m glad you ask for our feedback, now I hope our criticisms will be taken into account! You are on the right track, it’s a good start, you have all my encouragement the wix team! The success of this publisher can only be better ! ![]()

I definitely agree we need some ecommerse updates!
We are miles behind competition with their shops.
Not just different layouts but need more customisation. For example the colour picker looks like it’s from the early 2000s.
Please put this forward ![]()

I joined the forum specifically to ask for this. Having a gradient as a whole website background would be perfect. Most of the other web developing sites have it but not Editor X. Looking forward to the day they add this!
Being able to simply move the website pages in the order you want, not the order you create them in.
Yes, it is interesting how restrictive this is. I have clients asking for this every time they log in.
This is something we are all waiting for!
Remember to like and comment on this post that I made to be able to give it visibility
