What would you like to see next in Editor X?

Is it Xmas yet? No, but I come to collect your wish-lists and feedback on what you would like to see in Editor X next :gift:

If you have features and improvements you’d like to see, or feedback on existing functionality, this is the thread!

I’ll add all your feedback shared here to our product team later this week so please try and add your asks here before Friday.

@eduardog We would like to be able to add Google AdSense to our site so that we can show fixed and/or responsive ads!

This is possible in the original Editor, so making this possible on Editor X would be greatly appreciated!

Looking forward to some positive news here, even a workaround to make this possible would be great.

Removing default page tween so that all the navigations and footers don’t flash to white and fade in and out with each page. Content that is repeated should always remain in view and not reload constantly.

This is such a crazy simple wish, but it’d be so fantastic if it came true! Would you make the container boxes that you add from the Elements Menu to not have borders/shadows? When I drag them into a site currently, I have to undo the border/shadow formatting and when I’ve got several containers in use, that’s a lot of re-formatting to do!

Page background images.

Oh wait – I just realized that if you remove the formatting, how will designers see the containers? :flushed: Just wanted to bring this up regardless because I use containers a lot versus buttons, which are also pre-formatted, but I don’t use nearly as much. Speaking of buttons, what about making more formatting options for the buttons like with the original Editor? Could that be in the works soon?

Text themes to include scaling and line spacing.

I always select elements from the layers to edit them and build up on my collections of commonly used assets for projects.

Those exists already, but I would like see them applied to Text Rich content within the content manager database, which current override any styles applied to dynamic pages. I am sure Velo may some script for that.

@teejay Iamteejay – thanks. I’ve corrected my post – I meant to say ‘text themes’ rather than ‘text styles’. I define text themes but need to edit each application of the theme, because the theme doesn’t include all the properties that I consider ‘standard’ for that theme.

Something like slider revolution plug in , smooth scroll for pages, horizontal scrolling text like the web site Off Barcelona… and please fix white flash and transitions for pages.

Hi Edu,

My top 5 wish list for the moment would be:

  1. The option to change the animation at different breakpoints.

  2. Hover option on vertical menus (only seems to be available on horizontal menus which seems a bit strange)

  3. A way to be able to vary the scaled text size in one text box (you can change the font but not the size without it effecting all the fonts within that text box).

  4. Containers and text to have links.

  5. Integrating Adobe fonts.

@jim75924 Ya this is super needed. I definitely upvote this! It’d be nice to have all the same options available in the text themes.

  • Tabs - Similar to the services page, great for mobile too. I think it can currently be achieved in Velo but i’m trying to keep code free.

  • Master Social Icons - So I don’t have to update all of them on the website at once - Plus create a floating Social bar across the site without duplicating to every page.

  • Table master - with: Filters, pull from dataset, Google sheets etc…

  • Adobe Fonts

Multi State Box, definitely!

Amen to #1 and #2!

#3, I never put headings and paragraph text in the same text element for that reason. Can not do it in regular HTML.

#4? I am assuming you are saying to have a link applied to an entire container and its content., like applying a link to a DIV block? IF so AMEN!

#5 Adobe is pretty tight proprietary content.

I use AddThis.com for my social media elements on many of my sites. Analytics, tracking and reporting are good stuff.

And video!

I’d LOVE for the stores design to be a little more funky - its sooooo basic and boring compared to what other web design packages offer - like shopify, squarespace…etc - their shop templates are modern and appealing but the wix stores template is just mwah. It’s so difficult to design an appealing webstore with the provided one - I’ve been trying for months now to do work arounds with repeaters - also doesn’t provide anything near as good - and pro gallery - doesn’t allow you to put text where you like for ANY design - so it’s limited in its design to. Such a shame and frustrating considering how design led EditorX is supposed to be. That’s my wish and I’m pretty sure i’m not the only one who would like this to!

Regarding wish No3. Mixing sub headings and paragraph text in the same text element would be useful in certain scenarios but also in the paragraph text like the sample shown below.

EditorX allows me to do this if the text is not scaled but would be really useful if you could also do this using text scaling.
