Why does wix require Meta Description to be as long as 500 characters meanwhile Google’s SERP limit is 160 characters or less?

I am trying to understand why is this ignored and it should have a limit of 160 characters not 500.
What have you already tried:
I have checked but did not find any solution in Wix Support page.
Additional information:
I just want to help Wix because some of my customers use Wix and it will be easier for customers to understand that Meta Description should be 160 or less characters.

The typical guideline for meta descriptions in Google SERPs is around 155-160 characters. However, there are instances where Google displays longer meta descriptions, especially for very specific or long-tail searches. In these cases, the meta description shown may exceed the general guidelines. This happens because Google often pulls information directly from the on-page content rather than strictly adhering to the meta description tags.
To ensure that my meta descriptions are optimized for search results, I utilize tools like the Google SERP Snippet Optimization Tool. This tool helps me visualize how the description will appear to users during searches. It’s important to note that this tool bases its recommendations on the amount of pixels used, rather than simply counting characters.
