I have a question about what the best thing to do is. I have a website through wix, where I have bookings for workshops & a small webshop as well. I have worked on my SEO and am now with certain phrases number 1 on google for the workshops I offer!
However, I feel like wix is very much not focussing on improving the website builder I use anymore. It’s the older wix builder, and I feel sometimes very janky and hard to work with. However since they don’t offer setting over your website from the old builder to the studio builder, and don’t seem to be planning to, i’m a bit worried about being left behind. Some functions are really bad with the old builder, and now the plugins are also not being supported as much.
I’m feeling very left behind by wix. I really want to update my website but I’m afraid that if I put all that effort into the editor I have now, my website will be obsolete and hard to use in a few years because of the focus on Studio.
I don’t really want to rebuilt my whole website in studio! I don’t mind rebuilding the look, that fine & I want to do that anyone (i’ve already experimented with Studio a bit), but thinking of re-doing all my seo, my blog, services, alt-texts & translations is just overwhelming to me. I’m also super afraid of losing all SEO, since I rely on my income on that.
I know lots of other people have the same fear & problems and I feel like wix isn’t doing a lot to help yet. There apparently is no plan of converting the old editor, no priority to do so & no way to retain SEO or have all the website information still available if you want to rebuilt in studio.
Would really love some idea of when/if the old editor could also be converted some day & if not, if support & new features keep coming to the old editor.
