I have several standard Wix editor sites and one Wix Studio Site. Comparing my most content-heavy Wix editor site to my very basic, predominantly text-based Wix Studio site, I have found that the Wix Studio editor is so very extremely slow in loading time and responsiveness. For some reason the live studio site too is extremely slow in responsiveness specifically when clicking buttons or menu items (upwards of 10 seconds to begin loading the page).
My Wix studio site speed shows all is good, I have only the basic wix forms, chat, faq apps installed, one 3 second video and perhaps no more than 14 photos (which are all media from wix). All pages have approximately 3 short sections except the homepage which has 6.
Has anyone else had the same issues? I’m on my last straw contemplating re-designing the site on the normal editor (again, another issue that you cannot migrate from studio to the standard editor).
I have same issue! After transfer website from Wix Editor X to Wix Studio. All page transitions become very slow.
Would be appreciate if you find any method to fix it.
Aah! YES!
I tested this because a client wanted to upgrade to wix studio, I copied the website and layout almost EXACTLY and the wix studio version is soooo much slower…
I had a web dev friend check it out, and studio is running scrips in the background, lazy loading isn’t working correctly and a host of other issues that are on the wix side and not on our side
Reducing images, reducing videos, nothing works since wix does it’s own calculations in the background anyway when you upload, it’s such a pain, the design aspect of wix studio is great but the website it creates are cr*p for loading times.
Appreciate the feedback. This makes sense as I’ve completely optimised anything and everything on the editor that I can think of.
It’s a real problem and unfortunately no way to change a site from Studio to the basic editor (and I built this site on Studio so don’t even have a copy of it to use on the standard editor )
Fortunately it’s only my own site on the Studio editor and I’ve left all my clients’ sites as is in the standard editor.
Yep, support isn’t very helpful on this one just yet, my friend hopped on to them to tell them about their lazy load and they admitted it wasn’t working as intended (entire pages load at once instead of what is shown on screen which makes it slower)
And there work around is to only have text at the top so images can load underneath but… that doesn’t look nice and if my images are less than 100kb it shouldn’t be an issue anyway.
Sadly it just looks like Wix Studio has a long way to go before it’s actually viable for client based websites
