Is there any chance you could open WIX Video up to Admin contributors please as it currently stands only the owner has access. Which isn’t ideal for my client video platform business that he’s about to open.
Is there an alternative work around for this?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

This owner-only on the Wix-Video is killing me. I have to sign on as them anyways to load up ALL the videos and put the channels in because WIX video doesn’t show up cross-sites. It’s so screwed up. My clients can n e v e r find and assign the Channels and when I go in, it’s because they aren’t there. It makes Wix Video completely useless. At this point, I tell them to just avoid the hassle because the bugs aren’t worked out…after what…4 years?
This is the same issue, different spin: Prospects now get advice from “Experts” they speak to before “Partners” pitching them and are told NOT to give out their passwords, not to work with anyone who asks for a password. MANY of the new prospects have existing sites or sites they’ve started in their own accounts and are asking for “small tasks” or something which requires access to the Owner account and can’t be done as a Contributor. Just had to go to the owner account on a Wix Video App last week.
Hi Jen, we know the owner only is not ideal. We’re slowly rolling out site-based, and once opened to all we’ll be able to support contributors.
That aside, which bugs are you referring to?

There was zero chance my client was going to be able to load his videos and build his own videos. I had put everything in on the Contributor side but when he went in to connect, of course there was nothing showing. Once I logged in as him, I could see that all the work I did wasn’t there. I logged in as myself as Contibutor, it was there.
Seriously, nice price increase and plummeting value Wix. Embarrassing. Everyday.
In an overzealous fit of selling my client the Wix Player and telling him it would track all his video plays in one place based on this insane ideology that he was paying a PREMIUM price for his web hosting, I didn’t want to back track to separate embedded videos. I definitely could go a different direction with it but I had unfortunately talked him from switching from a competitor to Wix and now he’s paying the sucker prices here of +20% on web hosting for sub-premium applications. I mean come on people…
I did ALL the WORK in the Contributor zone and had to rebuild it ALL under his name? Get it together first before you bleed your customers dry on pricing.

My interest in this issue changed when I saw the whole list Wix now offers “Contributors” when you use the dashboard drop-down menu. It explains ALL the things Contributors CAN’T do, many of which I do for clients by getting their account sign-in. I do tell them they can change their password when I’m finished if they wish, and don’t keep passwords in my file when I’m finished with a project. It would still be nice to be able to somehow qualify for direct access, but I expect most clients to be cool with this once we’re working together.
Hi @jen49281 , I’ve read all your comments. We are aware that not having Contributors support in WixVideo is an issue for Wix Partners, and we’re working on it. It’s not a bug, it’s defined that way since today your Video Library contains all the videos added across all your site, which is not something you want to expose to contributors. This is being changed as we speak, but it will take some time until it is open to all users. We’ll update here and in the Facebook group once it’s fully rolled out. All the best.
@danielle-raiz-wix Thanks, but if you read my last comment, you should know I don’t consider it a real problem now that I understand the situation clearly, and it’s also NOT limited to the video player. It has to do with ALL the things we often need to do for clients that can only be done in the owner’s account. I suspect many customers choose Wix because they’re technologically challenged in the first place, and it’s difficult and time-consuming to get them to do something correctly even if they’re willing. If they can’t give me their password, it’s either an obstacle or a big time-eater I can’t afford. Fortunately, I’ve never had a problem with a client who knows me giving me a password for specific tasks if I explain it to them and point out they can change the password once I’m finished with what we agree I need to do in their account.
Yeah my clients hire me specifically for so many of the things that Wix keeps cutting off from the Contributor list, it doesn’t make it worth it to pretend anymore.
In the beginning it seemed like a great safety feature to protect credit card info but why not connect a domain? Then when it it’s gotten as restrictive as it is now…fugeddaboutit.
Once in awhile I get a re-redesign that adds something late in the game like Wix Video though and I’m like…ok about your password…ha ha.

Coming up to a year on and still cannot add contributors to wix video. I have a client about to use this service (lost the previous one due to the limitation).
I thought Web-designer Contributor Role gave us access to the Video Library on the dashboard, since when has that been taken away?
This contributor access is really needed now. Is there any updates on this, please?
