I have a friend who wants to revamp her website. The website is built with the old editor. I want to completely rebuild her website with Wix Studio. I’m still learning Wix, however… I’m quite familiar with shopify, and in Shopify I could build a new theme without replacing the existing theme, and still use all the existing products and images in the new theme. How do I do this in Wix? I can only see how to edit the existing site or create a full new site with its own backend that is complete disconnected from the products on the existing site. What am I missing?
At the moment, this is how it works. That said, we’re not far off releasing the option to create a Studio branch of a clients Wix site - meaning you can keep the dashboard and all the data, while rebuilding the site in the Studio editor.

As things stand now it is not possible to directly transfer a Wix Editor website to Wix studio. Unless you need the features that Wix Studio offers, the simplest thing to do would be to rebuild her site using the Wix Editor. You can make a copy of the current website and revamp the copy. Or, create a new website within the editor, importing the products and photos to the new Wix Editor website.
