Delay in payouts and Wix Payments verification checks

Wix Payouts is holding my money hostage. For the second time in three months, Wix has capriciously withheld revenue that my company has earned while it is “verifying” my business AGAIN. I was asked to submit a ridiculous amount of proof that I’m a real person with a real business. It has been nearly 3 weeks and I’ve had NO answers, virtually non-existent explanations or communication.

I"m resorting to this forum bc I’m getting NOWHERE with traditional help channels.

What I’m trying to do
I don’t ever want to go through this again. I can’t run a business this way. And this is personally affecting my family. What can I do to avoid this happening again?

What I’ve tried so far
I’ve done everything Wix has ever asked me to do to “verify” my business. Customer Support has provided ZERO help. I’m simply told to wait…

Hi Rachel, unfortunately there is nothing anyone here on the forum can do to help in this case. Any Wix Team members would only be refereing you to the correct channels to have it sorted, which you have already done.

I have no inner working knowledge of the payout system, but maybe because of the large monthly $ value of the memberships it is being flagged.

I am sorry you are dealing with this. I shouldn’t be so aware of this being a constant problem because I don’t take payments on my site, but I sure see these posts everywhere (here, Discord, Reddit).

My advice - immediately stop using Wix for payments and use something else like Stripe or even Square though I’d go for Stripe.

Depending on your business, you might want to consider an e-commerce platform that will be better for you in every way. Wix is only really good for super small businesses with very few products or services. If you have a service business.

Commenting because maybe if enough people speak out, Wix will fix broken processes and improve service.

Wix Payments, like most payment providers, is required to carry out verification checks - often when certain thresholds of money processed are met. I imagine this is what you’ve experienced (meeting these thresholds).
