I believe websites made on the wix platform need to be mobile-responsive.
I know that this might be a big under taking so I think making the websites built on the wix platform to be screen size (varying screen sizes)
responsive. I have built 3 websites using wix and this is always a feature that is commented on by clients and anyone that views anyone of the websites.
Another website builder (Duda.com) make their website mobile-responsive. I know this is a big selling point and viewing a website on a mobile device is the huge. Just from looking at the analytics of the 3 website I have built, 60 to 70% of visitors are mobile. Here is the most recent website I created: www.indigorivertinyhomes.com #featurerequest#responsive#mobileresponsive#uxdesign#wixisawesome
OMG Yes! I logged onto this forum to ask because I thought I was missing something. This is a huge issue and I hope WIX will quickly address this. What is a good response to still sell WIX to clients given it lacks in mobile responsiveness? I just did a website audit for a site I created and I thought I was seeing wrong when the audit said mobile responsiveness was missing. @WIX, please help.
Great question! I love using WIX to build my client’s website and do find that the mobile version isn’t as friendly as the desktop design features. Example: When I’m using repeater or column, it is really annoying to see my column show up really huge on the mobile view or how the repeater layout will stacked instead of showing side by side.
Editor X cannot do the ONE THING that it promises which is screen sizing responsiveness. It has completely failed. I’ve got clients jumping off Wix now like lemmings because they waited for so long and it’s never coming.
@jen49281 Hey Jen! We’ve seen that you have a lot of feedback from Editor X, thank you so much for that. That’s the way community works, we help each other =) Now we disagree in one thing, Editor X is still in beta, and all partners’ feedback is very helpful to improve the platform. That said, eX did not fail, several teams are working really hard to launch amazing tools for the community. We will make sure the eX team is aware of your request.
They would need to improve the functionality for non-coders to make it more user-friendly, as MOST sites created on wix are created by non-coders. Editor X, as of now, would be pretty close to impossible for a newbie to use.
They would need to create an easy way to migrate sites created with the classic editor to editor-x, so that existing sites aren’t destroyed in the migration. Sort of like when they moved from the old editor to the new editor.
As of now, neither of those ring true and I don’t believe that they have any plans to replace the classic editor with editor-x. Unless you’ve heard otherwise?
