Have you solved this? I have the same problem, making my bounce rate to go up.
Specially the menu is the slowest part of the mobile site.
I think WIX doesnt care to fix this issue. I think this issue is been the year 2016. Some website builder already overcome this kind of issue. I’m thinking to move out from Wix unless there’s improvement.
My own webpage loads a bit faster, but I’d recommend adding a preloader through your tracking tools tab (not a lightbox).
While the Wix team addresses the slow loading times, this method should make the experience a little more special and less frustrating for your visitors.
@David. Hi i dont have any idea about the preloader under tools tab. Do you mean the developer button to add code to run preloader? Can you share some link for that? Thank you!
Not quite, japantours.
If you go to your settings tab, there is a section called tracking & analytics.
Once you’re there, click on “+ New Tool” and select the “</> Custom” option at the bottom.
This allows you to make a tool with html code that will load faster than any box or lightbox so this makes it a better option than a javascript written loader through the site code and it shows on mobile just as quickly.
If you don’t know how to write your own html code, I recommend this handy tool, all you need to do is pick out a color and then copy paste the code snippet.

Make sure to place the code in Head.
This won’t improve load times, but it weighs next to nothing so it shouldn’t make it any slower.
Good luck!
Hello David. I just want to say THANK YOU VERY MUCH for this trick. The site is not boring anymore while waiting the page to load. You share the trick very easy!
THANK YOU THANK YOU
Yes it was a big help. Now i need to search about how the preloader works on every page as it seems it only works on home. Thank you
If there is a specific page that takes a long time to load even from cache, I suggest you change all your links to that page to the url form so that the preloader loads every time on that page.
This means you’ll have to replace that item if it’s in your horizontal menu on each page and any buttons that link there as well.
Apology but i am having a hard time to understand the exact instruction you gave.
I have menu bar based on the pages. Also i use the link for the dynamic page. I found out that the preloader only working when you refresh the browser (not on home only). Actually i like to see the preload not only on certain pages which load slow but to all pages.
I wouldn’t recommend adding it to all pages because it will probably slow down the load times on the ones that don’t need it.
What I mean is when you link an element, you have the option to add a link by your website’s index or you can link a url. If you copy paste the url of that page into the url option, it will load the preloader every time .
Now i understand. Will try your suggestion. Thank you very much Mr. David!
Preloaders do not solve the problem. Why is Wix so slow on mobile?
