New Premium Plans and CMS Limits (Data Platform is Dead)

Hello JessCK!!

Thank you for your comment! I had concluded that my execution steps or lack of knowledge were likely the issue with implementing an external database, and I had resigned myself to that, but it’s very reassuring to know that others have experienced the same symptoms (thank you for reassuring me!). Now, I can’t even remember why it didn’t work, but it simply didn’t. In the long term, I honestly thought that managing it would be too challenging for me. I tried MongoDB, AWS, and Google in that order, and I don’t think it worked well with AWS either. In any case, I concluded that this approach lacked operational stability and had unpredictable costs, which made me decide to withdraw from it for a long time.

I’m a big fan of Wix, but for some reason, I’ve had zero confidence in getting external database connections to work, and thus had no motivation to pursue it. So, I’m very excited to have encountered the new options that Loeiks suggested in this forum, and I appreciate it even though I haven’t done anything yet. Even if Loeiks’s method doesn’t work out for me, I’m happy just knowing that there are various options available. I believe the wonderful thing about Wix is that it manages to balance “simplicity for everyone to use” with “limitless scalability,” and I hope Wix will continue to find progressive solutions that keep Wix enthusiasts from drifting away due to changes in database handling. I understand there might be issues like increased costs, but I hope Wix will find a solution that stays true to its progressive nature.

Thank you again!

How about installing Supabase with npm using supabase-js? I’m experimenting with Backend tools. It might be a good idea to use Wix’s own CMS for specific tasks, while leveraging Supabase for more complex logic and scaling. However, I’m aware of the read/write limits per minute, which is unfortunate.
