I’ve been working on the new update and I’ve noticed some surprising things. In the wix studio packages, the CMS has a limited number of elements. For example, for the “Plus” package, you’re allowed 10,000 elements ?? I don’t mind that there’s a storage limit, but an entry limit is a load of rubbish, and any dev will agree with that.
And there’s no mention of the price difference between the “Plus” and “Elite” packages. Why not introduce an adaptable package? The price would adapt according to need? Today, the difference is so great that I feel our hands are being forced. Wix studio is aimed at freelancers and agencies, so explain to me how I’m supposed to sell a monthly subscription at over $178 to my customer when he only needs 1/4 of the features ??
I hope this will change, otherwise I’ll have to develop my customers’ sites on another platform, which would be really inconvenient for me…
I thought about it too and was concerned. I think wix may not know people are thinking of building consumer apps on its platform. They probably are building wix for people selling goods
Yes, it’s a possibility, but some of my customers need tables with hundreds of thousands of elements, there is a storage limit, yes, because storing is not free, but this is a line limit.
WIX has to be careful who it uses, because every time our agencies bring in a customer, we take them on as a subscription and so on…
Their upgrade to AI and CSS is great, but if hundreds of developers leave because they can’t meet their customers’ needs, it’s going to get complicated…
Don’t hesitate to have a look at Aaron’s article, which is much more detailed than mine (and if you have the time, leave a comment).
Popping in to let you all know that we’re seeing each and every comment! I am trying to obtain more information about this update. I will respond back when I do.
@Lucas_dev Hey!

I think the problem affects many developers who use the CMS. The problem is mainly focused on the limitations Wix Studio put on the read and write requests and also the number of items in the CMS. That alone would be great if they fixed it and if they don’t want to change it at least then they allow those limitations to operate on demand, that is, if I need more read and write requests then I could pay a little more and not have to change my plan because it would be unnecessary.
CMS must be a big part of any project in the world. You can’t build something without data. So these limits are killing the platform and developers creativity…
@Lucas_dev these limits are not only for Wix Studio btw when they go live these limits will be for every editor you use. But limits are not live yet as I know.
Totally my biggest concern today.
I started my new site on WIX studio, still not sure if it would be worth my time when CMS is that limited…
On my current site I have long passed the limit - what will happen to it now?
Problem, for all those who are in this channel, know that our fight continues because the PLUS and STANDARD plans have kept their item limits… This means that for $38 you can have a maximum of 10,000 items, and if you reach the limit you’ll be charged $178 per month for only 100,000 items… In the end, wix didn’t really listen to our requests.
