Question:
What is the correct order to downgrade my plan without losing storage or risking double billing?

What are you trying to achieve:
I want to downgrade from the Core Plan (590.40 EUR for 2 years) to a cheaper plan. The price increase from my previous plan (384 EUR) to the Core Plan is significant, so I’m exploring other options. My main concern is how to downgrade without losing my current storage capacity or being charged for both the old and new plans.
I want to downgrade from the Core Plan (590.40 EUR for 2 years) to a cheaper plan. The price increase from my previous plan (384 EUR) to the Core Plan is quite significant, so I’m exploring other options.
I currently have 2GB of images and videos on my site. If I cancel my current plan, my storage capacity will automatically drop to 500MB, and I’m concerned this will mess up my site or cause me to lose content. On the other hand, if I simply switch plans without canceling, I’m worried that I might get charged for both the old and new subscriptions.
Additionally, I’d like to change my billing cycle (from a 2-year plan to an annual plan), but I’m not sure if I should do that before or after switching plans.
What have you already tried:
I’ve reviewed Wix support articles on downgrading plans and managing storage, but I couldn’t find clear guidance on avoiding double billing or storage-related issues during the process. I also searched the forums for similar questions but didn’t find one that addressed this specific situation.
What’s the best and safest way to downgrade to a cheaper plan without affecting my site’s storage or functionality and how should I manage my billing cycle in this process?
