Pricing Plans Automations sends "canceled" mail-automation instead of "expired" mail-automation

Hi Wix,

We’re using your mail automations and were happy that they existed and that they were set up automatically with installing the pricing-plans app.

We have one type of e-mail message when a member cancels their subscription, because they will keep their paid benefits until the subscription period runs out.

Then we have another e-mail message with a coupon code, that should be delivered when the subscription period finally runs out (expires)

We were happy to see that these automation options were already installed, but the problem is:

The “plan expired” automation doesn’t trigger. When a subscription is expires, instead the “plan canceled” triggers.

This means that our members – paying customers – get the “plan canceled” e-mail automation twice. When they cancel and when their subscription runs out.

We really hope that you can fix this as soon as possible.

If anyone knows an easy work-around, that would be highly appreciated.

Not super interested in writing a lot of code.

Cheers!

@kreativthold Hi! Yes, that could be confusing for a customer to receive two “plan canceled” emails! Has the expired automation ever triggered? Is this a new issue? If you haven’t already, be sure to report it to Customer Care! They’ll be able to dig into it with you, and you’ll be able to track the progress of your ticket through your Wix Studio Workspace.

Hi, I reported this to customer care and got the following answer:

“Plan expired”-automation only triggers if the subscription had an end date (non-recurring).

“Plan canceled”-automation always triggers two times: When a subscription is cancelled (but continuing it’s final period), AND when the final period runs out.

I’d hope for the option of having it as two different automations, but for now I’ve resulted to make my “plan-canceled”-email kinda fit for the double-triggering.

So - not the ideal solution, but I’m moving on to my other to-do’s for now.

Hi Kreativthold, I share the same challenge. Did you by any chance find a solution for the ‘subscription expires’ automation email?

Hi Mingwen,

I haven’t checked it since.

All the best,
