I look after a website which has members, and many of these members are on Wix yearly pricing plans with auto renew.
We’re getting complaints that they’re not getting notified of the auto renew close to the renewal date, which I can empathise with. Even if they are made aware when they purchase the plan, it’s likely they don’t remember a year or more later.
I’m also led to believe that from a compliance/legal perspective we are also in danger with this process as you should always give notice of renewals in advance of taking cash from stored card details.
I’ve hunted around with automations and settings but no luck finding a solution to this, I’m stuck with either stopping auto renew or putting up with the complaints.
You’re my last chance here, any ideas how to get around this issue?
Many thanks,
Mark
Hey! For clarity, are we talking about Pricing Plans - the Wix App, where site members can by plans?
Based on this article - Pricing Plans: Managing Notifications You Send and Receive | Help Center | Wix.com - there are 5 automated email notifications that clients who have purchased a plan will receive
-
They purchase a pricing plan
-
A plan they own is about to expire
-
A plan they own expires
-
A plan they own is canceled
-
A free trial for a plan is about to expire
Which can all be managed via Automations - there’s more details in the article above on how to do that
yes, pricing plans bought within wix, the type i’m looking at are annual plans with auto renew, so the problem is they never expire, they just automatically rollover to a new year and automatically collect the fee from the members stored credit card details. there’s absolutely no way i can find that gives the member a heads up on the auto renewal coming up and the cash being collected which really annoys members and after Googling for ages, seems we’re also in dodgy territory regarding UK/EU legal/compliance.
