Site is fast in Mac Chrome, but slooooooow in Mac Safari

Hello, I have a new site just launched and it’s snappy and fast in Mac Chrome, but on Mac Safari it’s a hot mess. Takes a good 10-15 seconds to load the homepage, then another minute or two of jerkiness and stuttering before it actually becomes moderately usable. Even then, things are out of whack layout wise. I’m on a new model Mac with software up to date, and I also tried on a few different Macs with the same result. It does seem fine on iPhone Safari with all the same elements on the page.

Admittedly, the page is quite image-heavy and I could understand if it was slow on all browsers, but when it’s just Safari I smell a bug. I’ve tried some trial and error of removing different elements and the more I remove the better it gets, but there was no single smoking gun that I could identify. Other pages seem to be fine.

If anyone has any thoughts, love to hear them. I’m no coder but maybe there’s something in the code to explain what’s happening? Site is here…

Wix Studio.

Thanks in advance

Are those sections Repeater Sliders? I have had the same issue with the latest version of Safari and the issue is linked to Repeater Sliders.

Indeed they are, connected to CMS database so client can update them easily. Did you manage to rectify the situation?

Known Issue here:

Their only workaround at the moment is to set a fixed px height. This isn’t an option for our sites though due to scaling.

Darn that explains it. Thanks Steve, yes that workaround isn’t really going to work very well for my site, hope they fix it soon. In the meantime I hope my client doesn’t have many Mac users. :grimacing:
