We need to have the possibility to transfer a shop from an old wix website (wix editor) to the newer wix studio. I have a shop I made with wix editor years ago. For some reason I need to upgrade my website and use wix studio. I want to be able to do so without losing all my datas (orders, customers informations, bills, contacts, addresses, emails, conversations…)
You’ll have to migrate your contacts over, but won’t be able to bring your order history. You need to connect the shop like it’s brand new. Reconnect your 3rd party apps or reinstall them. My suggestion is to keep access to the old shop so you have your archive of the old orders. You can migrate products pretty easily by exporting them and importing them into new site. 1 thing to keep in mind is that the pictures don’t transfer site to site so you’ll need to not delete the old site if you’re doing this migration. The product pictures will be linked to the old media manager, so as you change product pictures in the future, you’ll do that on the new site. Hope that helps.
Hi Robert, thank you for your answer. I kow the options there and that’s what I’m doing, but I think Wix should make this option available, it would be more “professionnal”. WHen you own a business you don’t want to lose datas or to have to start everything again each time a “supplier” or “services” upgrades. It should be as simpkle and smooth as changing phones. Today when you buy a new phone it is very easy to transfer your data. Wix should do the same and allow its users to upgrade without having to start all over again and lose datas in the process.
