WIX Database LIVE Site lost all Databases!

This is continuing our facebook conversation regarding my current issue.

The site it is affecting is a re-build of my current site. so currently its www.silvesterdesign.wixsite.com/website-3 . I raised a ticket with support and have explained in full detail what the issue is. If you need it for further reference 489292316

Hi!
Currently designing a site and swapping between preview and live mode to check various codes work.
I currently have 28 Databases that currently should be showing on my live site databases. Well that was the case 10 mins ago. All of a sudden I’m seeing this message. I had them all prior.
I have closed the editor, re-opened and published again. This doesn’t solve the issue. Repeated this on Google Chrome and Safari.
Not sure if related, I have a custom dashboard called Invoice Centre, which was again working 10mins ago now opens a blank screen.

Looking at the site, it seems to be missing two steps. The site needs to be published in order for the database schema to made available to the Live site. Also, you need to sync the sandbox (editor) database with the Live if you also want the data to be made available in the Live site.

The site is already live and I had all 28 databases showing in the Wix Database dashboard on the live side. I carried out some coding work and hit both sync and publish (via editor) on the database that I was working on. Checked the code on the live site and it didn’t function the same as in the editor. So I went over to the Wix Database Dashboard and was given the above message.

So I thought I would do the standard clear cache, close browser, re-open, go to the editor re-sync all databases and hit publish once more. The same issue occurred. Thought this was odd so tried a different browser, same issue.

This was two days ago, again tried today, re-sync’d all databases, hit publish on editor went to live site and checked if the databases had synced. Same message. I’ve recorded it this time to prove the issue I am currently having.

I’m tearing my hair out over this issue, as prior to the issue happening, everything was functioning really well.

Any help by this point would be greatly appreciated, thanks for spending time to look at this!

Is www.silvesterdesign.wixsite.com/website-3 the same site as the editor link that you posted?

I used both and don’t see anything in the Live database. Since it’s not my site, I can’t publish it. But as I understand it, you published it and synced. Is that correct?

BTW - did you try restoring a known good version from the site history? Duplicate your current site before you do that just in case.

@yisrael-wix Yes that is correct regarding the editor and live link.

I haven’t restored back yet, Was a little worried to do so. I will try duplicating it now and restore and see what happens.

Hi @yisrael-wix Some good news, not sure if you guys had done something or WIX Support, all of a sudden I’ve got my databases back without needing to restore. So happy this issue has now been resolved.

Hey Chris,

I’m so glad that this got worked out for you. I just sprayed the network cables with WD-40 and things started working. Seriously, I didn’t have to do anything. It might have been a network or system issue on our end - tough to say. You can still buy me a beer though - or I’ll buy you one. :upside_down_face:

I’m having the exact issue described by Chris and am very worried.

All my customer data & all other data in my 10+ databases isn’t showing in the live view and isn’t being surfaced on my live site.

My users don’t have any of their info accessible & none of my dynamic pages work (basically nothing that uses the databases work and i’m worried about major data loss).

Any advice from anyone on or off this thread would be very welcomely received!

Was this data that you already saw in Live? Or, it might be a temp system glitch. You’ll probably get better assistance for this from the Wix support team .

@yisrael-wix Yeah it’s data that’s been live for over 6 months. I’ve reached out to support but waiting to hear back :S
