Editor X: Feedback? What have you built?

@guyd That did not work. It hid the menus across all breakpoints

Hi James, I’m Sebi, Product Manager for Editor X.
Thanks for sharing your experience for designing across multiple breakpoints.

Allow me to explain the logic behind breakpoints…

Breakpoints follow a cascading logic, any changes you make on the largest breakpoint will trickle down to the smaller breakpoints . Changes you make to smaller breakpoints won’t change the bigger breakpoints, with two exceptions .

Those exceptions are changes to the structure and data of the site, these will be reflected across all breakpoints.

Examples of changes to data and structure include:

  • Changing button text

  • Attaching an element to a contianer

  • Removing an element from a container

  • Deleting an element

The stack is a container so, if you move an element in or out of the stack, then you are changing the structure of the site, therefore changing all the breakpoints.

It is important when you are moving the stack that you don’t accidentally click and move the element by itself and cause the structure of the page.

Here you can read more about breakpoints: https://support.wix.com/en/article/editor-x-designing-your-site-across-breakpoints

Hope this information helped! Wishing you the best of luck in becoming an Editor X Expert!
Cheers,

Hi Guy, thanks for the update on this. I think it’s extremely important to see this functionality as it’s important for the type of sites that will be built on Editor X.

I think this is where I was having problems. It can be difficult to grab a stack without accidentally clicking on an element within the stack. I believe my issues with a section getting stuck within the header could be caused by the same thing. I’m not sure if this is the same principal as when we change the master font themes in a site in the old editor (where applying the theme applies the changes throughout the site).

Please feel free to share as much feedback as you want, our team is reviewing it on a daily basis. The more feedback we get, the more we can improve. Share the good, bad and everything in between! Thanks from the EditorX team

This part really throws me off. I don’t understand how breakpoints alter the structure and data of the entire site if we’re just deleting an element, for example. (I’ll read the info in the link you provided - thanks

@athanasios-spachos Thanks for posting screenshots. I have experienced & reported several of the issues you experienced - specifically the text box editing issue and the inability to see hidden elements with right click.

Hi everyone, I’m the product marketing manager for Editor X. Nice to meet you.
It’s so exciting to see some of your amazing creations.
Go ahead and take more of your sites to production. Editor X is backed by all the infrastructure and security of Wix, so your creations are in safe hands. During the closed beta period, the regular Wix upgrade prices still apply, so enjoy, and keep your feedback coming!

Honest feedback: I’m having a real tough time grasping designing across breakpoints. I’ve read the support article 10 times… Part of me honestly wants to give up on Editor X…It’s so much more confusing to me. :frowning:

I’m really looking forward to meeting editor x. Waiting …

Wow, this is really great! Well done Wix team! Only just accessed it today. I’ll need to build something to give any intelligent feedback, so will come back! Just a couple of early thoughts. When I press ā€˜Preview’ it doesn’t preview, it just shows the page inside the Editor, is there a way to fill the browser? Secondly, this is a game changer, my clients won’t want to edit this. This is how I currently sell in Wix, ā€˜It’s so easy for you to edit!’ It was the USP over WordPress. Something for me to think about, rather than a question.

Nothing at the moment as we didn’t receive the access…

May I private message you?

@geigerdesigns Hey! In order to make sure we hand it off to the right person it would be best if you submit the help form in the editor. Thank you and good luck!

Hi Sara,
I’m Na’ama and I work for the Editor X Product team. Thank you for your feedback. Both of your comments are super important and we will take them into a consideration.

Hi Debby! Our team is working on those issues, hope to get back to you with good news soon!

It’s great for agencies that maintain their clients’ websites

Yes, I can maintain them, but now, what’s the USP over WordPress?

Stay tuned, invites are being rolled out gradually
